Why Raising Your Voice is Important

"Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen." - Winston Churchill

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. Since I tend to post once a month, this month's topic is about why it is important to raise your voice. Speaking up can be troublesome I must admit, but I have learned not to let my fear of public speaking get in the way. Have you ever wanted to say something, but the words did not quite come out of your mouth because your mind is telling you to go for it, but the feeling in your body is telling you different. We have all been through this situation including me. Do not feel afraid to say no because you as an individual have the power to make your own decisions, so if you do not feel comfortable saying yes, say no.

Here are reasons why it is important to raise your voice. I have been through these situations, so I definitely can relate.

For example, a teacher or professor asks a question. You know the answer or you may think that you know the answer, but you are too afraid to mention it because you think that you will embarrass yourself. If you raise your hand and take that chance to answer the question, you may get the answer right, which is an outstanding accomplishment. Even if you get it wrong, the teacher will acknowledge your participation. Plus, the students in your class were probably thinking what you were thinking, so do not feel bad at all. At least you gave it a shot. Another example, saying no to pre-pressure. I enjoy going to house parties, clubs, and hookah bars because I like the environment, but I do not smoke nor drink. I go so that I could dance the night away, socialize, and take pictures. I have friends that smoke and drink. Sometimes they may offer me an alcoholic drink, but I always say no thank you. My friends are understanding and know that I don't smoke nor drink, but ask me just in case. Even though I say no, they respect my decision and continue to invite me places. True friends will respect any wise decision that you make. If a friend were to continue pre-pressuring you into doing something that you are not comfortable with, then they truly are not your friend. Also, don't feel bad if you realize who your friends are because friends come and go and your dedicated friends will respect and support you no matter what. Lastly, have you ever felt that you were not being treated fairly by your boss at work? You were probably thinking, "Hmm, should I talk to my boss? What should I say? What if I get in trouble or perhaps fired?" Develop the courage and tell your boss how you feel because if you do not, it will take over your mind until the feeling decides to go away. Your boss will not fire you for freedom of speech; your boss is a human being just like you, so they are open for discussion, but be careful how you confront him/her or people in general because you tend to say bad statements or make bad decisions when you are upset or angry. You are not you when you are angry or upset. Speak to your boss in a calm and professional tone. After you have said everything that you needed to say in an open minded manner, your boss may take your suggestion into consideration. Most importantly, the boss will acknowledge your courage because it shows that you are not afraid to speak up when something does not feel right. Employers look for communication skills, interpersonal skills, and honesty/integrity.

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post and learned that raising your voice is needed in many situations whether it is at work, school, or hanging out with friends! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my blog and read my posts! Until next tim

McDonald's Photo Shoot by Christian Aguilar

"Make the burger of your dreams." Coming soon to a McDonald's near you. Before I explain what my next project is, I would like to start off by saying that I, Christian Aguilar, created a YouTube account, so subscribe if you are interested in my journey through fashion, reviews, hauls, interviews, beauty, and online shopping. I will leave the link down below, so my supporters can definitely check it out. The reason why I started a YouTube channel is that I fell in love with YouTuber's introductions. How music is playing while the video they are using is muted. I actually published my very first video last week. If you are familiar with the online store Shop Jeen, I did a haul where I modeled apparel that I purchased from Shop Jeen this year. Please check it out if you're interested. I will also leave the link down below.
Another huge surprise is that I am getting braces! I don't see myself wearing braces because I have always showed off my grin in photographs since I was a child. Most people think that I do not need braces and that the dentist only wants my money, but I have an over bite and my bottom teeth are not in the best shape. I am eager to fix my smile and finally have that Hollywood smile. It is clever that I am thinking about fixing my smile right now because I plan on becoming a TV host when I am older, so when I do become one, my smile will already shine bright for the cameras. It may sound crazy how I talk about my future knowing it possibly may not happen, but I am someone who truly believes in myself. If I say I want to become something, I make it happen, even if it takes longer than I expected. Right now, I am enrolled in a community college and currently taking communication classes, so I am very serious about my career, reaching higher for my degree, and accomplishing my goals. “It’s a very long climb up the stairway to stardom and there’s no elevator, but you’ll never reach the top unless you keep on climbing. It may mean years of rejection, but if you keep on trying, you may just see your name up in lights someday” (qtd. in EP069 Lights, Camera, Quack-tion). Can you believe this quote is from the popular Japanese anime Pokémon? Pokémon episodes are sprinkled with inspiring quotes.
Okay, lets get back to the project I was talking about in the beginning of my introduction. Since McDonald’s employees are receiving brand new uniforms, my boss wants me to take beautiful, high quality photos of her employees; photos good enough to be placed in a catalog. That’s exactly what I am working on at the moment. I hope you enjoyed this blog post, please check out my YouTube channel and remember; very soon I will publish a video of myself wearing braces. Stay tuned.

Striving for success without any shortcuts.

Have you ever fantasized about living someone else's lifestyle? For example, a popular fashion blogger, a famous YouTube sensation or a trendy celebrity. Wishing you could frequently try expensive sweets, travel occasionally, and have an Instagram feed that receives hundreds of likes after posting a photo within ten minutes. Well I was currently going through that stage. Ever since I watched Fashion Bloggers S01E01 on YouTube, I began feeling as if I needed to become a fashion blogger in order to move on. I had a conversation with my mother about my obsessive desire to become someone who inspires people that are interested in fashion. "I want to become a fashion blogger, but I need to find a photographer who can take my photos every week" I said. "Son, you cannot because you are currently focusing on school, and you have a job" she said. She made an excellent point. I have plenty of duties that are going on at the moment. I am taking online MATH courses, I work Thursday through Sunday, and I attend dentist appointments regularly since I am in the process of getting braces, so I jumped back into reality, and I realized that one day, I may become a huge fashion blogger, but right now, I must focus on improving myself, so that is exactly what I am doing. I also realized that I may not be a popular fashion blogger, but I have a blog filled with advice, music, good vibes, projects, and my photography. I don't need to be like someone else in order to feel noticed, all I have to do is continue to improve my skills, stand out, and treat people nicely. People will soon follow my originality. From time to time, you may wish that you could look or have something someone else has, but in order to have those goals accomplished you must work for them. People who we look up to have worked their ass off in order to get to where they are right now. For instance, If you want to become a doctor, reach higher for your degree. If you want killer abs, train your hardest. If you want to become a blogger, start your own blog and add your own creative content. No shortcuts necessary, we all can become successful human beings! I am not saying, don't admire people's talents because I have many fashionable role models I look up to such as Zanita, Lua, Marcel Floruss, and Blake Scott. They are the ones who inspire me and give me excellent ideas. Just do not ever feel like you are not good enough because you are in fact, very special, and your uniqueness is what helps you stand out from the rest. Like the saying goes, "Be the best you, you can possibly be." Trust me being yourself is fun, and it is definitely worth it.

05/12/2015 - Hart Memorial Park ♥

Hello viewers, I have not gotten the chance to recently publish a blog post now that I am in college, so I apologize, luckily I am currently on break. I am glad that I am given the opportunity to finally relax from all the homework assignments and projects I received throughout my Spring 2015 semester. I received two A's and one B. I am content with my grades since I worked my butt off; I even had to cancel plans with my colleagues and some days, I had to leave work earlier than usual just so I could study for upcoming quizzes, but it was totally worth it since GPA is forever. I am starting my freshman year as a college student properly, and I will continue to #ReachHigher for a college degree! My goal is to receive an A or B in all of the courses I attend, except for Mathematics, I wouldn't mind a C because Math is my toughest subject. I am definitely taking advantage of the spare time I have, so my co-worker Shakia and I decided to have another photo shoot. This is our fifth time shooting together. I hope all of you enjoy the photos I have taken with my Canon EOS Rebel T5i.

Canon EOS REBEL T5i - 03/29/2015

"You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you" (Psalm 86:5).
"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).
Jesus replied, "What is impossible with man is possible with God." (Luke 18:27)
"The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness" (Jeremiah 31:3).
"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:8).
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30).
"for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes" (Proverbs 24:16).
Anybody can press a button. Anybody can own an expensive DSLR camera, but it takes dedication, passion, and skill in oder to become a photographer.
